In 1986 there was established a studio for restoration of pottery in the museum. The sculptor Alexander Kozarov was appointed for a restorer. From 2000 to 2009 Nina Turlakova also worked in that studio. At present in the Regional Historical Museum – Stara Zagora there are two separate studios for conservation and restoration. The objects that are restored there are with different specifications and of various kinds: ethnographic materials (metal, leather, and wood), easel painting (icons and images), monumental painting (frescoes and mosaics), archaeological materials (ceramics, stone, glass and metal). The studios are equipped with contemporary technical tools.
